This position functions as the director of Information Technology and Facilities Management.
The position has lead responsibility for the development, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Information Technology and departmentwide administrative budgets.
These functions include developing the annual budget request to the State Budget Office for the inclusion in the Governor’s Executive budget recommendation, working with program areas to develop detailed spending plans, monitoring expenditures to in relation to the annual appropriations, developing financial projections to monitor and forecast revenues and expenditure.
As the Director over the department’s IT systems & software (including hardware such as computers, tablets, phones, copiers, printers, etc.
), this position will work with bureau administration and technology staff to coordinate new system installation, address cyber security, and direct data management and protection.
Position will also work with the Agency leadership and staff to ensure productive and continuous process improvement throughout the department.
The position will ensure the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Enterprise Information Management program (Governor’s Executive Order 2016-24).
The position is responsible to oversee all statewide property management/leasing/infrastructure as required by the department and external entities.
This position drafts statewide procedures at the direction of upper-level management for all locations statewide.
Responsible for departmental leasing and occupancy operations statewide, including remodeling, new building and expansion projects, building infrastructure and wiring needs, and is responsible for the coordination of maintenance and emergency issues for all facilities utilized by the department throughout the State of Michigan.

Required Education and Experience Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.
Alternate Education and Experience Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements Additional Requirements and Information Applicants who possess a degree from a foreign college or university must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.
