Senior Buyer
JOB SUMMARY
The Buyer is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Mason plants need for production parts, production services, and packaging materials across multiple locations.
This position is also responsible to provide support and work with purchasing departments at multiple locations in identifying initiatives that can generate opportunities for additional savings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
Utilizes ERP systems to conduct online bids for current spend of products and services to secure competitive market prices.
Works closely with Engineering and Program Management to identify, secure and deliver material for samples, tryouts, first runs, ramp up and full production utilizing the Approved Supplier List.
Works with Internal Customers to understand requirements to ensure proper suppliers are solicited.
Work closely with all product disciplines to develop and coordinate product negotiations and awards.
Executes service agreements, contracts, purchase agreements, letter contracts and purchase orders with suppliers.
Research and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure product quality and cost competitiveness.
Supplier development activities and maintenance of the Approved Supplier List and supplier files.
Visits supplier facilities to qualify them as new sources and assists in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems as needed.
Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities.
Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management, negotiates prices and delivery terms.
Develop vendor cost analysis and comparisons.
Identifies, implements, monitors and reports the key initiatives & the generated savings as listed in the productivity roadmap, every month.
Manage freight and logistics as required by the project scope.
Train others on purchasing procedures as needed.
Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately.
Observe and follow company policies and maintain proper standards of conduct at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
At least 3 years purchasing experience (MRO, SERIES) required.
Experience in Metal stamping & welding preferred.
International trade and logistics experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong negotiation skills, Experience with reviewing contracts and negotiating with suppliers.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
Proficient with MS Office suite and ERP software, Knowledge of SAP, ARIBA is a plus.
Knowledge in regulatory compliance policy and procedures in terms of procurement functions.
Basic cost analysis understanding.
