*Seeking Community Living Support (CLS) Caregivers for Teenaged, Nonverbal Autistic Male in Medically Vulnerable Household* _Covid-cautious, allergy-aware, collaborative household looking for compassionate, energetic caregivers to support the development, community integration and wellbeing of a neurodiverse youth_ *Pay*: *$20.
20/hr *$17 base + $3.
20/hr state incentive.
Paid bi-weekly by Community Mental Health.
*Hours: Up to 25 hrs per week* *Schedule: Flexible between the hours of 10 am and 8 pm, Monday through Sunday*.
Family would like some availability during weekday business hours.
A regular schedule is preferred.
*Client description*_: _14 year old, male, 105 lbs, 5’3”; nonverbal\*, autism spectrum disorder, apraxia of limb and speech, sensory processing disorder, pica, no apparent sense of self-preservation; generally good natured, patient and relaxed, content when in a familiar, adapted environment.
For fun the client likes to go for car and bike rides, walks, play at the park, listen to music and draw.
_\*Client uses a combination of vocalizations, modified sign language, writing, typing, gesturing, printed cards and behavior to communicate_ *About our household: *We are located on the north side of Lansing (Old Town area) and continue to be Covid-cautious (vaccines, masking, air filtration and ventilation).
We are a shoes off and handwashing household.
Due to life-threatening food allergies in the household, please do not bring any peanuts, cashews, tree nuts or sesame seeds into the house.
We value communication and collaboration.

*Requirements:* 1) Willing and able to work with a Covid-cautious and allergy-aware household.
2) Strong and mobile enough to keep up with (and occasionally gently restrain or lift) a strong, sneaky-fast, active teenager.
3) Complete Michigan state-mandated training for CLS caregivers: Recipient Rights, Blood Borne Pathogens /Infection Control, First Aid, Individual Plan of Service (IPOS).
Training time is paid.
*Responsibilities:* 1) Support client to engage in activities of daily living such as feeding himself, household chores, personal hygiene, toileting (client uses pull-up style diapers).
2) Support and participate in prescribed therapeutic interventions, per IPOS goals and training 3) Complete timesheet and notes per shift, submit within three days of the end of each pay period.
4) Do your best to keep Covid-19 and other respiratory infections out of the household: * Before each shift, communicate any symptoms and/or possible exposures or positive tests in the previous 10 days.
Self-test with a provided rapid test.
* Wear a provided n95 respirator while indoors (or within 10’ of the client outdoors).
Mask breaks are encouraged.
* Stay up to date on all Covid/flu vaccines/boosters if not medically contraindicated.
5) Do your best to keep allergens out of the household: * Take off shoes and wash hands before touching anything inside the house.
* Do not bring peanuts, cashews, tree nuts or sesame seeds into the house.
