*This is a full-time classroom support position working with children ages 1-2 years old.
* 1.
*Qualifications: *Completion of at least sophomore status at an accredited college or university or two years experience in the field of early childhood.
Valid references or currently employed with the center.
Physical and mental stamina.
Evidence of sufficient maturity and judgment to handle crisis situations.
A philosophy of Early Childhood Education compatible with the center.
Ability to establish warm supportive relationships with the children, recognize illness symptoms, accept and profit from supervision and constructive feedback, to develop and maintain working relationships with parents and staff, and to thrive in a team oriented environment.
2.
*Responsibilities relating to other Professional Staff:* Supervise activities inside and outside of the building, and intervene to aide children when necessary.
Bring to attention any development challenges of individual children.
Fill in when professional staff is absent.
Supervise and follow the lesson plans for the ongoing activity of the classroom when the professional staff member is scheduled off the floor, particularly in the early morning, during naptime, outside play, and during the late afternoon.
Comply with all Center policies and procedures.

*Responsibility relating to staff:* Attend and participate in staff meetings with other professional staff and administration when applicable.
Participate in problem solving related to classroom management issues.
Share playground supervision duties, clean-up responsibilities, and classroom supervision in emergency situations.
Orient new staff members to the classroom, providing information about specific room limits and procedures including emergency procedures.
Directly and indirectly supervise all classroom staff.
Maintain certification in CPR (infant, child, and adult) and First Aid.

*Responsibilities relating to the children: *Maintain a safe environment designed to promote the physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional growth and development of each child.
Interact directly with the children during all parts of the day including indoor and outdoor play, meals and naptime.
Dress appropriately for these periods.
Follow weekly lesson plans or plan developmentally appropriate activities in the absence of lesson plans.
Protect children with allergies from exposure to material which may be harmful to them.
Create a pleasant mealtime atmosphere which encourages health eating habits and social interactions; include tooth brushing as a regular part of the meal.
Encourage respect for other individuals, including the teaching of non-violent problem solving techniques.
5.
*Responsibilities relating to the parents:* Maintain informal daily contacts to facilitate two way communication about children, being certain confidentiality is being maintained.
Inform parents when a child is ill or has been injured and complete an accident report.
Establish relationships with parents on an ongoing basis.
Discuss daily health and development observations of the children.
6.
*Responsibilities relating to the classroom: *Read and follow posted room limits for each classroom.
Read and follow posted allergy lists in each classroom.
Read and follow safety and emergency information posted in each room.
(These include tornado and fire).
Work cooperatively with other professional staff in the maintenance and readiness of equipment and material for maximum use by the children.
7.
*Responsibilities relating to the center:* Take attendance and meal counts daily.
Cooperate with other classrooms in rotating center resources.
Contribute to the program by preparing activities and materials for the classroom.
Other duties as assigned.
Job offers are contingent upon the completion and positive review of a Criminal History Background Check, Central Registry Clearance, employee Health Appraisal with Tuberculosis Test, and References Check.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $28,500.
