Job Summary: This position works closely with the Financial Controller supporting corporate and local finance teams by performing data analysis and providing useful reports to all levels of management and teammates as required.
This position is involved in month and year end close, account reconciliations, internal and external audit requirements and overall support to the Financial Controller as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with US and Canada month end close process by reviewing accounts, performing variance analysis, reclassing items to budgeted areas, preparing assigned journal entries, and preparing various analytical reports.
Review and prepare bank statement reconciliations, including ensuring reconciling items are addressed in a timely manner.
Support others in reconciling and cash application in SAP.
Assist in testing of new software implementations as needed.
Develop and maintain procedures & processes including creation of key finance SOP’s.
Train existing and new finance staff in SAP, SL & FloQast systems.
Review and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and prepare audit workpapers.
Work with and provide information to internal and external auditors.
Backup role creating and maintaining income statements and balance sheets for all US and Canada operations.
This includes validating balance sheet and retained earnings.
Audit function for the vendor/customer review process.
Support other areas within accounting as needed.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree or college credits toward an accounting degree
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
