Vice President, Corporate Controller

Come Be Part of a Mission that Matters! The Vice President, Corporate Controller is a key leadership position within the Neogen organization, responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate accounting and financial reporting.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in accounting leadership, with a focus on ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
The role includes direct ownership of the annual external audit and international statutory audits, global general ledger ownership and related policies and procedures and requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities Financial Compliance and Reporting: Ensure the company's financial statements comply with GAAP and SEC regulations.
Oversee Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and continuously evaluate and enhance internal controls.
Audit Management: Directly own and manage the annual external audit process.
Oversee international statutory audits, coordinating with regional controllers to ensure compliance.
Global Team Management: Lead and manage a global team, including international regional controllers.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced technical expertise in GAAP and SEC regulations.
Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards and regulatory changes.
Process Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for global accounting processes.
Leverage a proactive mindset to drive efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
Qualifications Minimum of 15-20 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance in a leadership role within a publicly traded company.
Public accounting experience highly preferred.
Comprehensive technical expertise in GAAP and SEC regulations; familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Proven success in managing global teams and international statutory audits.
Track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency at a global scale.
Experience with SAP is a significant plus.
Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification preferred.
