JOB State Budget Office is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the state budget, including development of the Governor’s Executive Budget recommendation, monitoring of the budget to ensure continued fiscal balance, and other budgetary analysis functions.
Budget development and implementation activities are conducted through five individual offices: Office of Economic Development (OED), Office of Education (OE), Office of Health and Human Services (OHHS), Office of Public Protection and Resources (OPPR), and Office of Budget Coordination and Development (OBCD).
**We are looking to fill two budget analyst positions to support OED and OHHS.

State Budget Office currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official workstation with the potential of up to three days remote work per week.
Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Work must be performed in the state of Michigan.
If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position.
Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.

Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period).
This does not apply to current state employees.
These positions are being filled as limited term.
Limited Term is an appointment which has an expiration date.
For this position, the Limited Term assignment will begin on the date of hire and expire one year from the date of hire.
Limited-Term employees are encouraged and supported in seeking permanent employment within the State of Michigan at the appointment end.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES EducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Credits in one or a combination of accounting, finance, economics, or public policy is preferred, but not required.

ExperienceThree years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11.
