Job Purpose
The Sr.
Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for supporting Jackson's quarterly forecast and annual planning process.
In support of the quarterly forecast and annual planning process, this role works closely with the AVP, Financial Planning & Analysis and other members of the FP&A team to support the quarterly forecast and planning process.
This role supports the development of value-added and insightful analytics on the company to support senior management decision making.
The Sr.
Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis plays an important role in enhancing the forecast process, including the development of additional reporting and analysis capabilities to aid in the review and challenge of projections.
Essential Responsibilities
Forecast and Annual Plan responsibilities:
Prepare and review standard reports and supporting schedules.
Support the analysis of Statutory and/or GAAP forecast results.
Support forecast controls.
Support quarterly rollover of forecast models and reports.
Support preparation of forecast/plan results materials (GAAP and/or Statutory) for senior management review.
Partner with other departments to deepen financial analysis and forecast processes.
Perform ad-hoc research and analysis.
Other Duties
Support various special projects as required.
Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles and procedures.
Ability to constructively challenge and influence business assumptions and projections.
Strong PC skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with experience building models in Excel.
Anaplan experience a plus.
Understanding of database constructs and design is a plus.
Ability to act as a trusted business advisor that works alongside the business and is knowledgeable in Finance, the industry and Jackson’s products and systems.
Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
Ability to leverage technology and create digital tools to support Finance.
Experience with financial statement analysis and an understanding of corporate finance concepts and processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders from various backgrounds and influence consistently without authority.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field required.
5+ years of financial planning & analysis or equivalent experience required.
Experience in financial reporting required.
Insurance/financial services industry experience preferred.
