This position serves as the resource person for Treasury employees throughout the State to provide technical expertise on accounting, interface and legislation issues.
This position is highly complex in nature with a very large number of variables, including setting guidelines for processing of financial transactions into the state’s accounting system.
This position provides expertise in resolving accounting interface problems in the State’s Accounting System for the department.
This position establishes and monitors test transactions in the State’s Accounting System.
This position is responsible for conducting special projects to research and implement new and revised accounting systems and processes.

Experience Four years of professional post-degree experience performing or auditing the systematic classification and evaluation of accounting data and the preparation of related financial and managerial reports equivalent to an Accountant, Auditor, or Assistant Auditor General including two years equivalent to an Accountant P11, Auditor P11, or Assistant Auditor General P11 or one year equivalent to an Accountant 12, Auditor 12, or Assistant Auditor General 12.
Alternate Education and Experience Alternate Education and Experience Accounting Specialist 13 Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certificate (CPA) may be substituted for one year of Accountant P11 experience.
OR Possession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of Accountant P11 experience.
Additional Requirements and Information Applicants who possess a degree from a foreign college or university must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.
S.
educational equivalents unless the degree has been recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Failure to provide this evaluation at the time of application may result in you being screened out of the process.
This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work and secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
This position has a FTIFNPRINT sub-class code.
The sub-class code indicates the position has access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and requires passing of a fingerprint-based background check per IRS Publication 1075.
Work must be performed in the state of Michigan.
If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan prior to your appointment to perform the duties of this position.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used.
Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr.
