Manage and supervise accounting and operational activities and prepares financial statements and reports for the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education (CEPSE).
Position Duties Include:
Develop, forecast, implement, and manage the budget for the CEPSE Department; Provide regular budget and accounting reports to Chairperson and to the Office of the Dean; Prepare and verify the accuracy of financial statements and reports, determine best practices, develop financial policies and accounting controls, and assist in developing short- and long-term planning of fiscal and administrative procedures directly related to the business operations of the Department.
Oversees fiscal and budgetary functions of the Department; Assists Chairpersons with developing policies, procedures, and practices related to the Department’s fiscal responsibilities; Implements policies and procedures to resolve financial issues and assure daily operations of the Department.
Coordinates with Human Resources to determine budgets, accounting strings, and labor projections.
Assists with preparation, submission, and approval of faculty/academic staff and graduate student appointments and payments.
Reviews and approves KFS documents as well as vouchers, purchase requisitions, and procurement card purchases in EBS making sure that appropriate documentation is attached, and expenses fall within budgets established for programs and faculty.
Other duties as assigned in support of departmental operations.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervision, accounting procedures and developing accounting controls, policies and procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
May require certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
