The Budget Analyst position will provide assistance with planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing major revenue and expenditure categories of the University.
Within the Budget Forecasting and Analysis Group in OFPB, the position will prepare analytical and theoretical analyses to assist leadership in timely decision making.
Interact with campus units to aid in the budget process and process allocations to units.
Participate in campus training activities and serve as a valuable resource for budget system users at all levels of the organization.
Provide input into the ongoing design and development of the university budget system.
In addition, this position will participate in special projects to assist University leadership with ongoing planning, reporting and analysis needs.
This position is “remote-friendly,” with the expectation of on-campus presence on a regular basis.
This is typically referred to as “Hybrid,” with the flexibility of regular remote work mixed with in-office work as mutually agreed upon with the supervisor.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting or Finance with relevant course work in Computer Science; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in professional financial statement preparation including cost accounting or auditing or registration as a Certified Public Accountant; may require experience in word processing, office management, spreadsheet, and accounting software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Four-year college degree program in Business Administration; work experience in accounting, financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
Advanced degree or certification, MBA, Masters degree, CMA, CPA.
Experience with modern, cloud-based budget systems/application (such as Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or a similar product.
) Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to effectively work on multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
Customer service oriented and a team player.
