This position will have financial responsibilities for the Office of Research Regulatory Support (ORRS), which includes Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Campus Animal Resources (CAR).
Working with the ORRS Business Manager and unit leaders for eight units, this position will oversee financial transactions to ensure the appropriate policies and procedures are followed in addition to ensuring audit compliance.
This position will have responsibility to reconcile monthly operating statements as well as create monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for administrative review and decision making.
In addition, this position will be responsible for billing rates for several units and ensure that the fee-for-service operations are established with correct and identifiable rates that are monitored and adjusted as needed to ensure that all costs are captured.
This position will work closely with the ORRS Business Manager to produce reports for decision making for administrative budgets, which includes spending analysis and year-over-year review for budget adjustments and requests for the organization.
Job duties will include:
40% - manage financial reporting and assist in fiscal planning
30% - review and approve financial documents ensuring compliance and reconcile operating statements monthly
25% - oversee billing for fee-for-service contracts/account receivable
5% - capital asset manager
Some of the duties for this role may be accomplished remotely.
A regular, "in-office" presence is expected for this role.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year degree program in accounting or finance with relevant course work in business administration; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting, auditing or financial analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Competency with word processing, database and spreadsheets.
Proficiency in navigating a variety of software applications.
