Members of our *Child Watch* *Staff* are responsible for caring for young children while the parent is participating in the Y's program and using the facilities.
This position includes building relationships by providing excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants.
Child supervision and care, injury prevention, and age-appropriate games/activities are the general functions of the job.
The YMCA Child Watch rooms are *open and staffed* during the following hours:
* Weekdays: 8:45 – 11:45 a.
m.
and 4:15 – 7:45 p.
m.
* Weekends: 8:45 a.
m.
– 12:00 p.
m.

*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Greet members and visitors in a warm, welcoming manner.
* Monitor room access by properly documenting daily sign-in/sign-out records.
* Communicate rules and proper use of equipment to children.
* Maintain constant supervision of children by sight and sound.
* Keep program area clean, orderly, and attractive.
* Clean and sanitize all equipment and surface areas after each use.
* Return equipment to its proper storage neatly and in an organized manner.
*Job Requirements:*
* Must be at least 16 years of age.
* Minimum one year experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age children.
* Ability to accept supervision, guidance, and constructive feedback.
* Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic personality.
* Must have strong relationship-building and communication skills.
* Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA.
* Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
* Completion of YMCA trainings within specified timeframe.
*Physical Demands:*
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, speak, hear, and have visual acuity.
