Duties
This is a developmental position within the Office of Administration (HAD), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Department of Transportation (DOT).
The position is designed to provide interns with challenging assignments that will broaden their perspectives on issues facing the government and prepare them for future positions throughout the government.
The Pathways Student Intern (Program Analyst) will have the opportunity to work in one of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Offices and will assist higher-level staff with support in the coordination, facilitation, and implementation of the operations in the office to which they are assigned.
This position will provide students an opportunity to be exposed and to participate in activities, innovations, and challenges facing the transportation industry today.
You will: Perform various finance-related duties with varying levels of responsibility, including project transaction reviews, budgeting, and financial reporting, and assisting the Division's staff with various task-based activities associated with oversight of Michigan's Federal-aid program.
Assist with program reviews including analyzing data, meetings with stakeholders, preparing reports, and presenting results.
Assist with managing the Division's Unit Plan activities and monitor Unit Plan measures and successes.
Identify new opportunities to utilize available data to improve office decision-making.
