The accountant provides expertise of general accounting duties and can perform multiple functions in all areas of accounting, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and assisting with the preparation of financial statements.
This individual in this role will also assist in various accounting-related special projects which may require collaboration with other departments.
Responsibilities
Perform accounts payable functions including matching and reviewing vendor invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, and resolving any discrepancies
Perform accounts receivable functions – responsible for follow-up collection activities
Manage the FMEC credit card program, including issuing cards and tracking cardholders, as well as verifying, reconciling, and processing credit card receipts and statements and issuing charges to jobs.
Assist with Time and Attendance and managing Paid Time Off
Assist with financial planning – forecasts and budgets
Assists in preparation of annual audits, monthly financial statements, and other requested reports
Assist with reviewing all financial statements/reports which are generated for accuracy and completeness
Assist with project accounting, department expense accounting and cost accounting
Act in a back-up capacity to other accounting associates, which includes completing some of their normal job duties during times when they are off work or in need of support due to time-sensitive deadlines
Create documented accounting-related processes and procedures
General accounting data entry activities
Maintain successful working relationships with vendors

Education
Associate’s Degree in Accounting and 2 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Accounting related experience, preferably using JobBoss software (job costing software), Creative Solutions (fixed asset software) or other similar software.
Intermediate Excel Skills required.
