Michigan Orthopedic Center is seeking a dynamic, process focused, financially driven Controller to lead our growing organization (full-time).
This individual works closely with administration, providers and staff across all areas of orthopedic financial management.
Key responsibilities of the Controller position include:
-Direct management of accounting and financial functions
-Oversight of accounting operations including daily, monthly, quarterly and year end processes
-Work closely with CEO and COO on all aspects of financial operations
- Responsible for all strategic, operational, financial, resource managerial responsibilities associated with the following key functions: 1) data preparation, delivery and integrity, 2) enterprise analytics, 3) strategic initiative modeling, 4) operating and capital budget, 5) labor productivity, and 6) long-range forecast
- Review and ensure accuracy of journal entries to reflect monthly activity
-Develop, document, implement and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
-Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
-Establish and monitor KPIs for healthcare within industry standards
Applicants must provide stellar patient service, be highly organized, be able to multi-task, and enjoy leading a collaborative team.
The ideal candidate represents the practice in a professional, service-oriented manner that supports the overall mission.
Ideal candidate must have an undergraduate business/management degree in accounting or finance with 3-5 years of post-college work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Candidates who have been responsible for analysis within other organizations and are ready to assume more responsibility are ideal candidates.
A very strong history of using a Financial Accounting software package is required.
The candidate must possess very strong QuickBooks and Excel skills.
Candidates with general business curiosity and a strong interest to grow and learn professionally will thrive in this position.
