To support continued growth, Vista Springs, an owner, operator, and developer of Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities in the North-Central Midwest is currently seeking a Senior Accounting Manager with technical accounting experience.
This position will support the continued growth and development of the Vista Springs portfolio and brand, reporting to the CEO and CPO.

The Financial Reporting Accountant will ensure that all financial transactions for the company are handled in accordance with IRS requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
This individual will maintain the integrity of the financial statements for management, investors, and lenders.
Key Responsibilities
§ Oversee all accounts, general ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with the Company’s accounting policies, governing accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
§ Manage the monthly financial close, journal entries, reconciliation and consolidation processes across multiple entities and investor groups.
§ Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
§ Manage budgets, tracking, and reporting.
Assist in preparation of annual budgets, business plans, and forecasting.
§ Perform GL maintenance and financial statement analysis.
§ Bank reconciliations: Ability to analyze financial statements and identify areas of risk.
§ Conduct monthly and quarterly account variance analysis.
Assist Operations in the development and implementation of action plans to eliminate budget variances.
§ Support the development of accounting processes to ensure strong internal controls.
§ Assist in the preparation of the tax package.
§ Act as the primary point of contact with external auditors.
Manage and coordinate external accounting partners in the preparation of financial statements, income tax filings, and audits.
§ Work with cross functional teams to achieve results.
§ Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and internal controls.
§ Identify and implement process improvements.
Champion and implement continuous improvement initiatives to attain “best in class” process and procedures.
§ Effectively communicate, follow, and enforce the Company’s established policies and procedures by monitoring and auditing compliance, reviewing reports and data related to operational processes.
Correct all violations or infractions and implement measures and tools to prevent deficiencies.
§ Facilitate and advise on the development of new financial and accounting systems as required by management as dictated by the growth of the organization.
§ Ad hoc and special projects as requested.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
§ The ideal candidate should have a solid background in accounting and an understanding of business operations and cost accounting.
§ ERP experience.
§ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

§ Proficiency with MS Office, including advanced MS Excel skills.
§ Detailed oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Minimum Requirements
§ Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting or Finance.
MBA preferred.
§ 7+ years of progressive work-related experience in managerial accounting and finance
§ Highly proficient with MS Office Suite (intermediate or advanced abilities in Excel).
§ In-depth knowledge of SAGE 50 (Peachtree) or similar software (3+ years).
§ Strong leadership abilities to mentor, motivate and influence excellence.
§ Availability to work evenings and weekends when necessary, including occasional overnight travel.
§ MUST reside in the State of Michigan
Preferred Requirements
§ CPA/CMA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
§ Experience in development & construction of new business locations preferred: project accounting, construction draws, etc.
§ 5+ years’ experience leading and supervising others, with the proven ability to develop employees, provide guidance, direction and training, transfer knowledge and promote a positive working environment is preferred.
§ Healthcare experience in the senior living space preferred.
